Woodfred was the 6th child of 13 siblings, making him the ultimate middle child. Growing up in the crowded town of Dwellford, he made every effort to blend into the background so that his siblings would forget to pick on him. Secretly, he was very bright and creative. He would read and write in his hiding places as often as he could. He learned eight languages and invented two. When he was in his teens his family went on a camping trip and accidentally left Woodfred behind, taking a large bird home in the family bus instead. Woodfred had no immediate desire to go back and find his family. Instead, he made friends with the birds and hung out in the woods. He took his knack for "blending in" to the extreme and remained in a hollow tree stump disguise 90% of the time. Of all the Great Hunters, he was the most patient waiting for days or even weeks before making his move on a prey.
