I don't think Clutter bothered with exclusive releases for the first event, but it looks they are putting a bit more emphasis on it this year. I think it's a great idea for promoting Clutter and the artists participating. Mark Nagata has produced a one-off custom of his Eyezon platform titled 'King Kong Eyezon' that will retail for $300. This month has been Toy Art Gallery's first full year in it's new location on Melrose, and to celebrate they've invited 50+ artists to create exclusive editions, one-of-a-kind custom toys and works of art, limited edition apparel, and more. The 'TAG Anniversary Show' will open it's doors Saturday 9/15 starting at 7pm and it will run until 10pm. So it appears the The Super Suck Up! is in full swing with previews already released from Ferg, Frank Kozik, Doktor A, and Paul Kaiju. This Sucklord themed event, featuring 16 custom Sucklord Bootlegs at this years DCon 2012, November 3rd at the Pasadena Convention Center. This will be just one of many Sucklord themed events including a show 'Retrospective Art Show A Losing Proposition: 2004-2012', and his all-day Suckathon show where he'll be interviewing artists and whoever else happens by his booth. So there's about 5 weeks until NYCC is upon us, and I'm looking forward to hanging out with some old friends and finally meeting some online friends in person at the Designer Toy Awards being hosted by the master of suck The Sucklord. The public voting has wrapped up and the DTA board are voting on their picks for the remaining categories. I thought I would make it interesting by making some guesses on who I think will win in each category. Set to be released in a couple of months is Series 1 of Fig-Lab's new Finger Five, a line of 2" to 2.5" tall vinyl one-piece finger puppets. This initial outing for the platform will feature designs by Paul Kaiju, Suckadelic (aka Sucklord), MonstreHero, Onell Designs, and L'Amour Supreme with the prototype sculpts (pictured) having mainly been done by Paul Kaiju.
