I have a bad feeling about this. Star Wars inspired art by Nick Curtis/Trust Pigs.

Nick Curtis, also known by the artistic pseudonym Trust Pigs, invites one and all to join him for an evening of pop art related to Star Wars. Works on display will encompass a variety of mediums, from two-dimensional prints and paintings to three-dimensional sculptural pieces. Perhaps a new iteration of his iconic Fancy Fett design might be in attendance as well.

Opening reception will be on Saturday, April 14th from 6PM to 9PM and the artist will be in attendance. As always delightful refreshments will be served during the opening. Afterwards, the show will be available for viewing during normal business hours until May 7th.

And I probably should've said it immediately, but even if you can't make it yourself… feel free to invite everyone you know via the Facebook Page. Huge turnout is always a good thing!

trustpigs m I'll be taking pics… and maybe posting some teasers. We'll see. And I hope that at least a couple of my "online friends" will be able to make it… it's always fun to meet up in real life! about 12 years ago

For any and all that care, the opening of I have a bad feeling about this. was pretty fantastic. I sold a couple of pieces with a LOT of people expressing interest in the remaining ones. Plus I finally got to meet Brutherford (who was in attendance), but I did get into an "argument" (or "debate-like discussion") with Ron English. Overall, I was very happy. Thank you all (even those that couldn't attend but were there in spirit) for making a great night.

Easily_Amused Awesome! Now I'm really curious what you got into a discussion about with Ron English? You all go out and do some subversion of the masses? LOL. about 12 years ago

vihkter glad to hear that the opening went "pretty fantastic"... wish I was closer, so I could drop by to say hello and check it out. about 12 years ago

Mister-Quiche m was Ron at the opening, thats pretty neat even if there was a debate like discussion about 12 years ago

Trustpigs-trampt-280f

trustpigs m Ron was doing a signing in town that night, so he saw my show while I was hanging it the day before. I went and hung out with Clutter (which is where he was) after my opening closed. We got into an "argument" about pricing of art, specifically should cost be taken into account when you look at a piece. about 12 years ago

Trustpigs-trampt-280f

trustpigs m And thanks again, guys! Very much appreciated the continued support. about 12 years ago

Easily_amused-trampt-2928f

Easily_Amused What side did you come down on? I find when its a work that lends itself to reproduction (Stencils, prints, photography, and such) cost should be considered as paret of the weighing process of actually buying. about 12 years ago

Trustpigs-trampt-280f

trustpigs m I agree. The more mass produceable a piece is, the less profit margin an artist should seek. English has that old school mentality of the finished work should be assessed on its own without any other factors. Neither of us are right or wrong, just different opinions. It was a fun "argument" actually. about 12 years ago

Easily_amused-trampt-2928f

Easily_Amused Too true! I wish I was there to be a part of it. about 12 years ago

Trustpigs-trampt-280f

trustpigs m Ha! That would've been great! I think most people get star-struck in English's presence, so they don't argue about such things. I hope he had "fun" with it too and didn't walk away upset about it. about 12 years ago

Easily_amused-trampt-2928f

Easily_Amused The way I view it, if the conversation doesn't break down into name calling, cursing, or violence there's no reason to get upset. I've never been StarStruck by meeting people though... about 12 years ago

Trustpigs-trampt-280f

trustpigs m Thankfully, there were none of those things. English is just a tough chap to 'read' facially, but I think he had a good time in the "argument." about 12 years ago

I'm not really good at sharing WIP pics (sorry), but here's what I tell people that ask me how it's going…

This one is almost done, so it kinda is a WIP. Title is "Keep Calm and Capture Han" and it is a 24" x 24" (that's 2-foot square) stencil painting on wood panel.

trustpigs m My camera really sucks. You can't tell from the pic, but that's metallic gold and silver as well as two tones of green and red making up the mask (plus, obviously, black)… the mask is a 7 color stencil in the end. about 12 years ago

I'm doing a Free Goodie Friday over at SpankyStokes.com to hype the show opening… have no fears, I'll be doing a completey separate contest over here too! ;)
