They say Minnesota is the land of 10,000 lakes. The truth is though that its the land of 13,000 lake. 3000 of them, most not more than residual puddles, move every year and are simply the result of snow melt on the boggy countryside. Poor Devon was discovered floundering in a puddle in the woods just past the end of my garden. I can only imaging he came here by some inland waterway during the thaw and was unable to return as the waters receded. The Jacabobs found him rather pleasant and brought him home for tea. The toothless cephalopod looks quite grumpy but I assure you his bark is worse than his suck. He's made from wool by the needle felting method and measures 5.5" wide by 3" tall. His 30 soft supple green suckers are made from key lifter cups of a standard computer keyboard.
