Wooden Bender from Kidrobot ... not real wood.New Release: Futurama x Kidrobot release of 6" Bender
For me personally, Futurama has become a daily staple in my life because it's one of the few 'grown up' shows that I can enjoy with my daughter. While I like the idea of producing this figure, I think I would be happier if it was proportionate to the actual Bender, instead of this squished version similar to the 3" Futurama Seres. Also, if it were at least partially made of wood that would definitely seal the deal for me. I'm sure a ton of Matt Groening fans will pick this up, just like they've done with all the Kidrobot and Simpsons & Futurama collaborations.... [ read more ]

Hopefully the first of many toy releases from Yum Yum LondonToy Series 1: Cactus, Popcorn, Granny, Hotdog, and Zombie
I don't know how I stumbled onto Yum Yum, but I'm sure glad I did. Yum Yum is a London based animation studio fronted by two animators Beth and Jonny, who decided to bring some of their amazing 2D characters into the real world. This first series is being sold only as a set for £60 and it consists of 5 characters: Cactus, Popcorn, Granny, Hotdog, and Zombie. The only downfall for me is that I wish they were around 8" or so instead of 4.7" ... otherwise these seem like a great pick-up. Hopefully this is just the first of many releases, since judging by the Yum Yum Flickr photostream they have many more characters to choose from down the line. We just received an email from Lunabee announcing her upcoming collaboration with the amazing Swiss woodworker Pepe Hiller called Woodbees. I'm a huge fan of both artist so this should be a great release, the only catch being there will only be 10 pieces ... 9 small worker bees for $99 each and one Queen bee for $149.
