Blake and I had some issues syncing up with a deployment yesterday, pretty much my fault, so there was a bit of a delay updating this weeks featured artists. Some of these artists might be new to you, but chances are you know them all already. As always they are picked for their general awesomeness and new things they have going on recently. Anyway, on to our featured artists
Shawn is an entrepreneurial machine, from his own hand-made toys to big production runs, video games and more ... the man doesn't seem to have an off switch. Probably why he will be featured on CNN Headline News during the Small Business Success segment this week. The man is definitely known best for his Ninja's, and his ever Popular Ninja of the Month (2012) which is now in it's third year. He's pretty much a mainstay of most conventions and if you're lucky enough to go to one, stop by and say hi to him. You can check out more of Shawn's work at shawnimals.com and follow him on twitter @shawnimal.
While Sekure D is known for his 'Cyclops' style characters, he's been taking on a variety of pop-culture icons in his last few series of custom 'bots. His blindbox custom series 'Mascot Season' has featured the likes of Mario, Spongebob and more with another round probably on the way. He also created a Boba Fett & C3PO as part of the recent CTU - Star Wars vs Dunny Series. You can check out more of Sekure D's work at sekured.com and follow him on twitter @SekureD.
I definitely got familiar with McBess's work through his participate in the 2Tone Dunny series from Kidrobot, but now that I'm familiar with his illustration work I've been trying to pick up one of his pieces for a while now. His recent show, In The Mood at Sargent Paper, definitely yielded some great work and I believe at the time I'm writing this there are still some prints available on the Sargent Paper site. You can check out more of McBess's work at mcbess.com and follow him on twitter @mcbess.
We've got some great original art of Yoskay's in the site already, but his new show Joke’s On Me… which opened last week at LeBasse Projects was nothing short of brilliant. Apparently the show was three years in the making, and featured a range of mediums with his unique take on familiar pop culture icons. If you're in LA go check out the show, which run until April 21. You can check out more of Yoskay's work at yoskay.com and follow him on twitter if he was on it.
