Looks like we're back on track with our Must Know Monday after last weeks deployment snafu. As per usual all these artists are great and have some new stuff going on we think you should know about. Generally it's a bunch of kick-ass stuff that I just really want to get my hands on. Anyway, on to our featured artists
David has been in the game for a while, but his upcoming Deathead Mickey has got to be one of my must have figures to buy this year. Along with this release, David has an upcoming show at Toy Art Gallery this week titled 'Bad News Travels Fast', which will debut a 5 foot version of his new Deathead Mickey. The show opens on April 13th and runs to the 30th. Be sure to check out toyartgallery.com for more info, I just hope the figure isn't an exclusive release at the show otherwise I'l need some help. You can check out more of David's work at davidfloresart.com and follow him on twitter if he used it.
While I've never met Ardabus Rubber (Justin) in person, we've been talking for a while now through email. He was one of the artists we featured in our first NYCC booth, and he'll be in our upcoming customizers book 'Deconstructing Designer Toys'. A few days ago he went through the site and added tons of his work, including a new Tequila figure I'm in love with titled 'Petulance #3'. You can check out more of Ardabus Rubber's work at ardabusrubber.com and follow him on twitter @ArdabusRubber.
Most of what I know about Phantom Cit Creative comes from their print releases through Mondo which have a habit of selling out with in 2-3 minutes. While I'd love to have a variety of their prints that small window to purchase one has made it rather difficult. Their recent M.C. Escher homage for the upcoming move 'The Cabin in the Wood' has me hunting around eBay to see if I can find one at a decent price. You can check out more of Phantom City Creative's work at phantomcitycreative.com and follow him on twitter @PhantomCityCrtv.
Except for Andrew and Kelly Denato being stuck in Albuquerque since the show, it seems like the Great Escape which opened on friday at Stranger Factory was a smashing success. The show featured a variety of paintings and sculptures by both artists. Available pieces will be on strangerfactory.com for purchase via email request starting at noon (PST) 4/9. You can check out more of Andrew's work at creaturesinmyhead.com and follow him on twitter @deadzebra.
