It's our first featured line-up of 2013 and so it's time to get to know a few folks a bit better - and would you believe it's almost on time this week?! Each week-ish we pick four incredible artists with a little something new going on (or if we just really really like 'em) and post it up here for your amusement, so let's dive right in to this week's fantastic four.

Featured for Designer Toys: Tim Biskup

It's easy to write about Tim Biskup for several reasons. For one, I'm far from the first to write about him. He's been featured in just about every cool art and pop culture magazine over the years. Besides that, his work is amazing. His paintings seem to be exhibiting almost constantly at galleries and museums, and his unique style has been copied by everyone from well-meaning tee designers on Threadless to the less well-meaning tee designers at Target. Since he is, however, our TOY designer of the week, perhaps I should stay focused on that. For about 6 months now, savvy Chicago residents can treat themselves at Rotofugi's Roto-a-Matic, where for the pittance of $6 you can create this month's colorway of Tim Biskup's Helper Dragon before your very eyes. If you're not in Chicago, don't fret, because you can order these online as well. Follow Tim Biskup's regularly updated and awe-inspiring blog for more on all his many ongoing projects.

Featured for Custom Toys: Artmymind

Custom toys can be beautiful in so many different ways, but it's very rare to look at a toy and not be sure it's a custom at all. When I see the level of detail, the perfection in the sculpting and painting, and the accessories on Artmymind's customs, the quality fools me into thinking that somehow I missed the release of a new production toy. This Polish design duo ups the bar for customizers everywhere. Their most recent Dunny series was available at the end of last year in two open edition colorways, and one limited to just 10 pieces. This weekend you can check out their new piece for the 'Fonzo Love NY' show at myplasticheart. Keep and eye on their tumblr for their latest and greatest.

Featured for Art Prints: Dan Grzeca

More props to the good people of Chicago today, as we recognize another wonderful creative force from the Windy City. Printmaker and illustrator Dan Grzeca has been making posters for musicians since the 90s, and in a landscape that has been so heavily vectorized, his prints bring some much needed energy to the scene. His grungy scratchboard style juxtaposed with painterly color palettes that can best be described as lovely, make for a bold and unique approach to printmaking. You can catch his latest work at his exhibition Little Creatures, opening this Friday, Jan. 11th at Rotofugi

Featured for Original Art: Bennett Slater

Bennett Slater has a great take on pop culture, making him a regular at Gallery 1988 and his superior skill with a paintbrush make him a regular in collector's homes. His bold paintings utilize a traditional medium and style to tell very modern stories. His latest show at Gallery 1988 - Melrose with Andrew DeGraff opened just last Saturday and you can see his beautiful works there until the 26th. To learn more you can also check out his website, and keep track of his latest work on his blog
