Would you be surprised if I told you that it's been over a month since my last featured artist post? I'm not, because it's been a crazy month filled with incredible adventures that I'm still in the process of properly documenting. That's no excuse to let good artists go unfeatured, however, so without further ado I present you with this week's (month's) foursome that you should be keeping your eyes on. Enjoy.

Featured for Designer Toys: Devilrobots

Go ahead and click on Devilrobots artist portfolio and check out all the items they have in the library. I'll wait. It might take you a minute, though, because these guys have a lot of work out there. Shinishiro Kitai is the designer behind all these wonderful characters. I always automatically associate the brand with variations of their To-fu platform but there's quite a bit more in their arsenal. Their latest figure releases are all 2" To-Fu guys making them nice and affordable, I'm fond of the Snake To-Fu figure released in February to celebrate the year of the Snake. Check out also the Bartender, DJ, and Drunk tiny To-Fu still available in their online shop

Featured for Custom Toys: Frank Mysterio

Frank Mysterio, aka Rafael Pantoja is an incredible customizer out of Mexico City. As passionately as I feel about custom sculpts, it's always refreshing to see toys in their original shape, just painted up to be more badass than ever - and that's Frank Mysterio's specialty. His range of styles is vast, reaching from his heritage and traditional Central-American art to Kaiju and graffiti. Of his latest work, his Thai-inspired godlike Paw titled Ramakien was the one that got my eye. His attention to detail made that piece stand out and his ever-improving brushwork brought that piece to a whole new level. Bone up on your Spanish (or Google translate) and follow his blog to see pictures of his latest work.

Featured for Art Prints: Tom Whalen

I feel like I've already talked about Tom Whalen before, but that doesn't quell my enthusiasm for his work. He's one of the first artists whose DeviantArt portfolios inspired me to learn Adobe Illustrator and his movie posters are among the best you can get. Since he's quite prolific, to boot, there's plenty of work for us to talk about, so let me take you back just a bit to earlier this month when Mondo released his Wreck-It Ralph 24x36" screenprint as part of their Oscar Series. Being as the Trampt household currently includes a 3-year-old girl, we are obsessed with this movie at present and likewise with Tom Whalen's excellent tribute. His recurring palette of aqua meets orange is particularly well suited to animated films, and since those happen to be my favorite colors I find myself falling in love on a regular basis. For more of his latest check out his Alien-inspired P-5000 Work Loader print at Gallery 1988 - Melrose up for only one more day, and his latest Transformer prints for Acidfree Gallery. Of course you can always keep track of his latest on strongstuff.net

Featured for Original Art: Bruce White

Bruce White, despite being only my third favorite Bruce (behind Wayne and Willis) is still an impressive and important one to know. Fighting to bring back the fine art of velvet painting his classy pop-culture portraits leave me with a deep yearning to fill my falls with the fuzzy faces of my film heros. A tattoo artist by trade, Bruce brings his considerable artistic skill to this under-appreciated medium and his now iconic paintings are a fixture at Gallery 1988. His latest work for Mondo's SXSW Game of Thrones show might be my favorite one yet. He captured Tyrion Lannister with Caravagesque drama that is very fitting considering the source material. His piece, The Roar of Godzilla, for the Weapon of Choice show at Hero Complex Gallery also caught my eye, but perhaps that's just because the godzilla apocalypse scenario has always appealed to me. Check out his work at velvetgeek.com
