We're pleased to help Vinyl Destination announce their upcoming show 'Dreams in Focus' which opens in July at the Exposure Gallery in Cape Town, South Africa. The roster of artists include a tight and incredible line-up of 10 artists, 5 South African, and 5 international. These artists have been carefully selected and promise to bring something amazing with their own unique style. Today we're happy to announce that South African artist MiniKiki and British artist Lunabee will both be participating in this upcoming show.
A bit more about MiniKiki
Kirsten Bürisch, aka MiniKiki, is well known for her colorfully detailed custom shoes and apparel items, as well as her striking art. Only relatively recently has Kirsten been transferring her talented skills onto the vinyl toy platform, but her style comes over so naturally that her pieces she produces are continually inspiring! MiniKiki is also responsible for our wonderful second poster design for the show, seen above, and below you'll see some of her recent customs and artworks of hers. You'll no doubt agree with us that Kirsten is a wonderful addition to our South African portion of our Dreams In Focus Toy and Photography custom show roster! A bit more about Lunabee
Lunabee, aka Sarah Miskelly, is no stranger to you most you. In fact yesterday morning we announced her new upcoming Woodbee platform collaboration with Swiss woodworker Pepe Hiller. When she's not working as a designer/illustrator Lunabee has been creating whimsical characters on a array of platforms, and has contributed to variety of shows including the most recent Playsam 500 & Heavy Metal Qee show in London. Background on the Dreams in Focus show
Along with a 4" toy, each artist will also be customizing a Lomography camera, bringing together the wonderful world of designer vinyl and photography, to create a truly unique and exciting show! The custom set will then be completed by an A4 1/1 print, which will make the result a fantastic 3-piece collectors set that fans from both the vinyl toy and photography scene would love to own. From the night of the event, all customs will then go on a 30-day online auction sale, where they will be available to buyers worldwide. So it's a perfect opportunity for one and all to try and own a piece of this fantastic show!
Dreams In Focus is all about bringing together the designer toy and photography community, while giving something back. That is why we have decided to dedicate and donate all proceeds of custom sales to the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital, who we are working together with to make sure all proceeds will go to the support of their rehabilitation program that helps children in their Burns Unit. This program encompasses physiotherapy, pain management, occupational therapy, music and art therapy, and social services, and treats approximately 3500 patient visits each year. 100% of the donation will goes towards this program, and not a single cent will be spent on administration or operational costs.

Vinyl Destination will be announcing the roster of artists involved in the show with the help of 5 awesome bloggers. So be sure to keep an eye on The Blot Says, Trampt, Clutter Magazine, ToysREvil, and SpankyStokes, who will each be exclusively revealing a name of a participating artist over the course of the week, starting Monday (May 7th), leading to the final reveal on Friday (May 11th).
