Two great shows opening at Gallery 1988 this weekend, making for some lovely art-walking on Melrose this Friday night.
First up at the G1988 East location, Mark Englert presents the very first installment of his annual show Director Series, where he takes on the inimitable Stanley Kubrick. Each piece will be inspired by the director's work, making it a must-see for me.

At G1988 West you can catch the opening of "We Made Them Do It." Gallery 1988 has worked with some of their best artists to bring the art homage to movies and shows that never got the creative tribute they deserve. They've promised works inspired by The Wonder Years, Jem, Walker Texas Ranger, Beverly Hills 90210, Secretary, Con Air, and much more...

Both shows open Friday, July 26th, 7-10pm. Director Series: Kubrick will be on display until August 24th, and We Made Them Do It until August 15th. See you there.
