12″ x 12″, Acrylic on Linen Canvas Artist Statement: “For The Love Of Music is themed around music albums and artwork. Visually, the painting riffs off of Creature Feature’s “The Greatest Show Unearthed” cover. Though I did listen to a lot of Rufus Rex “Dead Beat” – specifically ‘Worlds Inbetween” . While my piece is not a literal visual reinterpretation of the albums, I feel as though the underlying themes and mood in some of the music informs the piece; a tension between hopefullness and hopelessness, playfulness and sadness, and the contrast in levity (bright colours) and darker (visual + thematic) undertones.”
