Hortence the Goat

Dream in Plastic is a boutique & art gallery in Beacon, NY and online. We specialize in fun! We love art toys, bright colors, photography, showing off artists, making friends, throwing parties and things that smoke and/or have mustaches. All custom toys were available for sale with a portion of the proceeds going to the charity "Love Our Children USA." Goats N Glory is the moniker used by Hudson Valley artist Allison Braun. Allison was born in Mobile, Alabama to New York native parents. Needless to say, she was culturally eclectic. After collecting pictures of goats, eventually Braun decided to draw one. What resulted was the adorably doe-eyed mascot, "Hortence." She started creating more characters and enjoyed the challenge of making a typically unattractive animal, like a naked mole rat or a jellyfish, into a huggable, adorable character. Polymer clay is a versatile, synthetic modeling medium that remains soft and pliable until baked, allowing for easy shaping and creation of various crafts, jewelry, and sculptures.
