Mr. Usine was born in Thionville, France in 1981. He studied at the Fine Arts School of Bordeaux. In 2002, he founded his type foundry, SMeltery, while still in school. Not only is he a pretty spiffy type designer, he’s also a graphic designer! He’s currently working with Fanny Garcia at the Garcia Usine studio (GUsto).
