Orange County, California based artist with an insatiable hunger to create monsters, creatures and characters. His appetite for the strange and unusual began at the age of 5 when he deviated from the mundane children's section of the local bookstore and came across a copy of Giger's Alien. Captivated by the design, the mood, the artistry-- He was doomed.
His love for monsters and art making grew exponentially from his childhood and throughout his teens when he decided to pursue an art education in Los Angeles, CA. He studied classical art, technique and design at schools such as the Los Angeles Academy of Fine Art (LAAFA), Gnomon, Concept Design Academy, and Art Center.
With fundamental art training under his belt, he found himself overwhelmed with career path options-- until he came across a class taught by Aris Kolokontes at Phoenix Atelier. The sculpting, the mold making, the resin casting-- He was doomed.
His artistic influences include H.R. Giger, Beksinski, Chet Zar, Cam De Leon, Bosch, Rembrandt, Bernini, Jordu Schell, Casey Love, Odd Nerdrum, Simon Lee and Aris Kolokontes-- to name a few.
Josh currently lives in Orange County where he designs, sculpts, molds, casts and paints his creations. In 2013 he began accepting commissions from clients from all over the world. You can also find his gallery work, which he gives credit to his maniacal inner child "Helix", at Hyaena Gallery in Burbank, CA.
