About this Venue

Phone Booth Gallery began organizing and curating art exhibitions in April 2008. Migrating all around Southern California, and now located on Broadway in Long Beach, we have since become known worldwide for our unique stable of artists, our modest method of operation, and our exceptional selection of printed art editions. The “Originals” section of the site is a small sampling of the work we have available outside of our normal exhibition schedule, but if you are looking for a specific piece or work by a certain artist, we will do our best to fulfill special requests. Many of the artists we work with are available for commissions, and we love working on new projects. Born in 1980 and raised in the industrial pottery town of Stoke on Trent, Staffordshire. Interested in art from a very early age, Andrew adopted the alias of Famous When Dead in 2005. Although self-taught as an artist, he did study graphic design and illustration up-to university level. Andrew still currently resides in Staffordshire and works from his home studio that he shares with his wife and three young children. Acrylic paint is fast drying paint containing pigment suspension in acrylic polymer emulsion. Acrylic paints can be diluted with water, but become water-resistant when dry. Depending on how much the paint is diluted (with water) or modified with acrylic gels, media, or pastes, the finished acrylic painting can resemble a watercolor or an oil painting, or have its own unique characteristics not attainable with other media.
