About this Platform
MADL is a designer art toy platform created by Jeremy “MAD” Madl, one of the pioneers of the urban vinyl toy movement. First released in 2002, MADL figures are known for their bold, blocky shape, clean lines, and graffiti-inspired aesthetics. They were among the first American-designed vinyl toys to gain popularity, bridging the gap between street art, hip-hop culture, and designer collectibles. The MAD*L figure typically has a distinctive angular form with a broad head and a compact body, providing a great canvas for artists to customize. Over the years, the platform has featured numerous limited-edition releases, artist collaborations, and hand-painted customs, making it a highly sought-after collectible in the art toy scene. Hello, my name is Marilyn Vicente and I am from Richardson, Texas. My primary media I currently use are micron pens and paint brushes as my tools of choice to create intricate, abstract designs. Many of my pen drawings have been featured throughout the Dallas metroplex in places such as The RGB Gallery, Southside on Lamar's Janette Kennedy Gallery and at Kettle Art Gallery. I've also been a featured artist for KERA's Art and Seek. Recently, my custom vinyl toy sets were part of a group exhibition at the Bottleneck Art Gallery Brooklyn, New York organized by Vinyl Thoughts. In January, I was part of "Show Me The Munny 4" at Strangeway's Dallas hosted by Atama & Company. Both of these shows were covered by several toy bloggers such as Urban Toy Daily and SpankyStokes among other bloggers. I have donated some of my works to raise money for charitable causes and fundraisers to Art Conspiracy's Art Con 8 and Kettle Art Gallery's "For the Love of Kettle". I have done free community art workshops/events for children. Some of these opportunities have occurred via ArtLoveMagic.
