Mixed media tends to refer to a work of visual art that combines various traditionally distinct visual art media. For example, a work on canvas that combines paint, ink, and collage could properly be called a "mixed media" work. When creating a painted or photographed work using mixed media it is important to choose the layers carefully and allow enough drying time between the layers to ensure the final work will have integrity. If many different media are used it is equally important to choose a sturdy foundation upon which the different layers are imposed. Many interesting effects can be achieved by using mixed media. Often, found objects are used in conjunction with traditional artist media, such as paints and graphite, to express a meaning in the everyday life. In this manner, many different elements of art become more flexible than with traditional artist media. Kidrobot is a well-known American designer toy company, and while they have historically been more focused on online retail, they have also had a presence with physical stores in certain locations. These stores are often considered flagship locations where collectors and art toy enthusiasts can experience Kidrobot’s offerings in person, including their iconic limited-edition toys, collectibles, and art pieces. Animator and illustrator specialising in character, creature and games design with a passion for video games, animation, cinema and comic books I take influence from all of these as well as my love and interest for nature and wildlife. I try to reflect these influences in my personal work and feel they have all have a strong and positive affect on my work over the years. Professionally I have predominatly been working with Adobe Flash for the last few years. Gaining experience working in games design, educational media, virtual worlds, social media and advertising campaigns all aimed at the children to young teen audiences. These projects have allowed me the invaluable experience of working closely with a variety of other departments such as editorial content producers, community management teams and development teams as well as working alongside other designers.
