About this Artist
A 50 year+ career mark, Chaz has changed the perception of Cholo graffiti writing into a well respected and influential art form. Bojórquez began his west-coast aesthetic in 1969, using Cholo style graffiti mixed with the disciplined Asian art form of calligraphy. Chaz brought an identity and unique aesthetic to a worldwide community, both as a street artist and a fine artist. Graffiti is a dialogue, and Chaz’s signature style is the language of East L.A. neighborhoods. Graffiti has become central to the experience of every city. Somos L.A. brings the grit of the street into a tangible, wearable piece of calligrafitti history. If Graffiti had a soul, Somos L.A is it’s vessel. Screen printing is a printing technique that uses a woven mesh to support an ink-blocking stencil. The attached stencil forms open areas of mesh that transfer ink or other printable materials which can be pressed through the mesh as a sharp-edged image onto a substrate. A roller or squeegee is moved across the screen stencil, forcing or pumping ink past the threads of the woven mesh in the open areas. Screen printing is also a stencil method of print making in which a design is imposed on a screen of silk or other fine mesh, with blank areas coated with an impermeable substance, and ink is forced through the mesh onto the printing surface. It is also known as silkscreen, seriography, and serigraph.OG Slick is an American artist and designer known for his distinctive style that blends elements of street art, graffiti, and pop culture. OG Slick, whose real name is Omar “OG Slick” Quiroga, has been a prominent figure in the urban art scene, creating works that are both visually bold and deeply connected to the streets. His signature style often incorporates vibrant colors, playful characters, and dynamic compositions, which have made his art highly recognizable. One of OG Slick’s most notable contributions to the art world is his creation of the “Slick” character, a cartoonish figure that has appeared in various art toys, prints, and murals. This character, along with many of his other creations, often embodies a sense of humor, rebellion, and individuality, which resonates with fans of contemporary urban art. His work often explores themes of identity, social commentary, and cultural influences, blending his personal experiences with his love for graffiti and street culture.
