Skinner is a self-taught artist from Sacramento, California who has meticulously crafted a balance of extraordinary mural work, mighty powerful wall to wall installations and a prolific commercial career. Influenced by 80’s pop culture, human struggle, myths and violence dungeons and dragons and the heavy metal gods, Skinner’s mind is one full of mayhem fueled by a calculated chaos. His work has been shown all over the Universe at places like the museum of graphic design in Breta, Netherlands, Japan, Illustrative festival in Berlin, Germany, France and the states from LA to New York and in between..recently participating in the epic suggestivism show at the Grand Central Arts Center. For example, a work on canvas that combines paint, ink, and collage could properly be called a "mixed media" work. When creating a painted or photographed work using mixed media it is important to choose the layers carefully and allow enough drying time between the layers to ensure the final work will have integrity. If many different media are used it is equally important to choose a sturdy foundation upon which the different layers are imposed. Many interesting effects can be achieved by using mixed media. Often, found objects are used in conjunction with traditional artist media, such as paints and graphite, to express a meaning in the everyday life. In this manner, many different elements of art become more flexible than with traditional artist media. Skinner's love for metal-dressed fully erect demons eating their enemies goes beyond his incredible paintings and murals. This amazing monster maker from Sacramento also plays in the metal band "Ungoliant" and he practices and tours in between his busy painting schedule. Even though he is not in the classroom anymore he is still teaching a new generation of artists by the way he works. Skinner's collaborations range from our local homies at Mishka to Europe with the Dead Sea Mob. Just last October, Skinner created a huge body of work and a zine called the "Butcher Kings" by teaming up with long time murder accomplice Alex Pardee.
