Andrea Kang has created a fanciful world filled with girls, bears, and little creatures. Her narratives explore nostalgia and the blurred lines that exist between dreams, reality, and memories. After graduating with her Masters from the Rhode Island School of Design she worked for Hasbro Inc. designing toys. Since then she's taught, participated in gallery exhibitions and dedicated her time to freelance illustration and product design work. She also started a design collective with illustrator Nathan Jurevicius under the moniker 'Harley & Boss.' Gouache is an opaque, water-based paint that combines the fluidity of watercolor with the boldness of acrylic or oil paint. It consists of pigment, water, and a binding agent (usually gum arabic), with added chalk or white pigment to enhance its opacity. Gouache is popular among illustrators, designers, and fine artists for its rich color payoff, ease of use, and adaptability across different styles and techniques.
