Brian Mahony/Guumon: It Came From the East May 13th-June 7th, 2011; Opening reception Friday, May 13th, 4-9pm The art toy world is rich with collaboration and a shared interest in the design process. It’s just these elements that artist Brian Mahony loves. He has created two Japanese art toys as GUUMON and that has launched collaborations with artists worldwide. It Came From The East will include custom works by over 20 artists of Mahony designed kaiju (strange monster in Japanese). Mahony also acts as curator with 100 pieces on exhibit including kaiju inspired works of art. This will be his fifth US GUUMON show and in July he will attend his second show in Japan at Design Festa. Meet Mahony at the opening reception as he signs figures and runs a giveaway for reception attendees. Music provided by DJ EXIN. Our goal is to showcase exciting, original, and new artists who use figurative sculpture as their primary medium of expression. We also focus on showing, collecting, and producing high end, limited edition, custom, and life-size toy sculptures. Our showroom and gallery is located in Hollywood, California. One of our specialties is to provide availability on rare and desirable toys, life-size figures, bronze sculptures, and one-of-a-kind custom figures created by some of the leading artists/toy designers from around the world. We also have an incredible selection of aftermarket fine art originals and prints created by the leading pop surrealist and low brow artists working today. Our aim is to provide the best works from these artists at a fair market value and priced to fit a variety of budgets. OsirisOrion is a self taught artist born and raised in Queens, NY and is currently residing in Southington, CT. Osiris's painting and sculpting style has been described by many as "Visceral Surrealism". He blends multiple color layers with heavy detailed line work. Osiris's subject matter are monsters and spirits portrayed through human like turmoils and emotions. Osiris is also know for his work customizing vinyl toys which he applies the same philosophies as he does in his paintings. OsirisOrion's influences are a fusion of abstract, surrealism, graffiti and elements of horror and fantasy. Osiris's work has proudly been exhibited across the US and has had the privilege to work with companies/organizations such as Rumble Monsters, October Toys, Argonaut Resins and The Poster Cause Project
