About this Series

World War Robot is a graphic novel illustrated by artist Ashley Wood and written by both Ashley Wood and TP Louise. The picture book combines an unconventional use of pairing painted images and essays to tell small parts of a larger story. The prose include excerpts from various diaries, journals and transcripts based around the humans involved in a fictional war in the 1980-1990s known as the Great War. WWR format figures are 1/6th scale toys of the various bots and humans of the WWR Universe, while their smaller WWRp counterparts are half that size at 1/12th scale. He was born in Australia, and now resides in Australia and The United States. He lives with his wife, his two sons, and one stinky cat. Ashley has been a professional illustrator for over ten years, and has worked for most major entertainment companies including Dreamworks SKG, Warner Bros., Random House, Marvel Comics, McFarlane Entertainment, IDW, and Konami. His illustration technique is a combination of traditional painting techniques, coupled with digital photography and graphic software. Currently Ashley divides his time between operating his entertainment company 7174 TYP LTD., creating properties for film, comics, books, and toys; and commercial projects including the Official Metal Gear Solid comic for IDW Publishing, and commissions from the advertising- and entertainment industry.threeA Trading Company Ltd, threeA Toys, or threeA (also stylized 3A), is a a Hong Kong based company founded in 2008 by co-owners Ashley Wood and Kim Fung Wong. Kim Fung Wong generally handles the wholesale and production aspects of the company while Ashley Wood designs the figures and handles marketing. threeA develops and manufactures designer toys, posters, books, prints and clothing based on characters and paintings usually created and designed by Ashley Wood. threeA does also have a Showcase toy branch where the company produces figures from other Intellectual Properties not owned by Ashley Wood and has announced a new project called 3A+ that will work in similar fashion with independent artists. Since the company is essentially ThreeZero x Ashley Wood, the name "ThreeA" is derived from the name of Kim Fung Wong's company, ThreeZero, and the first letter in Ashley Wood's name. threeA toys are generally released as pre-orders on Bambaland and Bambasia, with retailers having the toys available afterward.
