Status Serigraph is the graphic design and poster work of Justin Helton. Since 2005, Helton has become one of the most sought after young designers in the Southeast. A one-man studio specializing in graphic design for the music industry, he has designed materials for some of today’s biggest musical acts and festivals. Working with bands like Phish, The Avett Brothers, My Morning Jacket, Ween, The Black Keys, and festivals like Bonnaroo, and Outside Lands, Helton has created an array of designs. Working out of Knoxville, TN, he uses a blend of design, illustration, and typography in his work and his posters are printed entirely by hand. As an alumni of the University of Tennessee, and current Creative Director at AC Entertainment, he has the experience to design to your needs and deliver the final product in a professional manner. His designs are hip and quirky, but compromise of strong design skills and fresh conceptual thinking.This one has been in the works for quite some time, and the work we've seen so far is epic, so you might want to make sure you aren't still hungover on Jan. 13th. The attached stencil forms open areas of mesh that transfer ink or other printable materials which can be pressed through the mesh as a sharp-edged image onto a substrate. A roller or squeegee is moved across the screen stencil, forcing or pumping ink past the threads of the woven mesh in the open areas. Screen printing is also a stencil method of print making in which a design is imposed on a screen of silk or other fine mesh, with blank areas coated with an impermeable substance, and ink is forced through the mesh onto the printing surface.
