Mondo is pop culture brand, built for collectors. Mondo humbly began as a quasi-bootleg t-shirt shop located in the basement storage hallway of a single-screen movie theater. In 2007, Mondo began working with major artists and studios to create beautifully designed licensed products. We started with posters, then soundtrack LPs, and finally toys and other items, and have blossomed into the ever-expanding hydra of entertainment collectibles that we are today. He's also a very talented illustrator and I hope that one day, when he is a household name, he will look back upon these positive comments and toss me some dough to buy a houseboat." -Trish Kelly, the artist's sister Mondo, the collectible art division of Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, will feature the iconic "Universal Monsters" for its next gallery show, which runs from October 19 through November 10, featuring both prints and original works of art from dozens of world-renowned artists including Martin Ansin, Rick Baker, Jason Edmiston, JC Richard, Drew Struzan, Ken Taylor, Kevin Tong and many more. The gallery opening on October 19 will be from 7:00 - 10:00pm with regular hours to follow for the show's duration. The Mondo Gallery is located at 4115 Guadalupe St. in Austin, TX. Acrylic paint is fast drying paint containing pigment suspension in acrylic polymer emulsion. Acrylic paints can be diluted with water, but become water-resistant when dry. Depending on how much the paint is diluted (with water) or modified with acrylic gels, media, or pastes, the finished acrylic painting can resemble a watercolor or an oil painting, or have its own unique characteristics not attainable with other media.
