About this Event

Taking place at the Novotel London West. This will see the world of designer toys come to life once again, with products and exhibitors from around the world. Self-produced art toys are designer collectibles created and manufactured independently by the artist or small teams without the backing of a large toy company or mass-market brand. These toys are often highly personal, artistic expressions and are usually made in limited runs. Key Characteristics include independent creation where the artist is in control of the entire process from concept, sculpting, and painting to production and packaging. These are usually made in small batches, often 10–100 pieces, which adds to their rarity, made using materials like resin, sofubi (Japanese soft vinyl), or 3D-printed components. Founded in September 2011 by Lee McSweeney and Jayne Goddard, Collect and Display began it’s journey into the vinyl toy scene. A common interest in the history of the artists involved in the pieces brought the idea of Collect and Display and so the company was created. Selling solely Star Wars plush on eBay we set out to prove ourselves to the toy industry. By providing a second to none customer service we stood out to the avid EBay shoppers. Within months a website was born and our determination paid off as we took our first step towards the Vinyl Scene. Starting with the most simple but popular products including the wonderful DIY selection from Kidrobot we began to get noticed and began to sell out. New stock and new product variants were taken on rapidly. Lessons were learnt but sales kept us busy. 1 Year on and a handful of amazing suppliers under our belt we have a whole new website, a whole new selection of stock and a very busy office. Every week we are growing more and more and branching out with new products and to a whole new group of collectors. Our journey certainly hasn’t been the easiest but it has definitely PJ was born in Hertfordshire with a mixed Thai and English heritage. Throughout his childhood a convergent flame manifested in his spirit composed of his love for the natural world, toys, animation and art. Equipped with an early obsession for collecting everything from Simpsons comics and Pokémon cards, to fossils and minerals from museum gift shops, to creepy crawlies uncovered from beneath garden rocks, temporarily housed and observed in takeaway boxes, to moulded plastic animals and Lego. All of which eventually lead him to the world of designer toys. After discovering the custom toy scene in the heart of London and sliding into many an artists DMs for all the tips and tricks he could soak up, PJ purchased his first block of Super Sculpey and got to work. Making and selling his first handmade toys at age 15 in 2012. This passion continued to burn bright and PJ made it his mission after coming home from school to sit at his desk and sculpt, allowing his mind to be transported into the fantasy word his creations inhabited. One filled with vibrant characters inspired by biodiversity and the natural world, whilst also populated by demons and creatures that hide in the I am an Artist based out of Chicago, IL. I’ve been illustrating, painting, and doing anything and everything art for the past 7 years. I’ve done various works from t-shirt design to logos to illustrating books to commission pieces. For the past year, I’ve gotten the most exposure for my custom work on vinyl toys. My work has been featured on multiple website and online forums as well as in print. Mid 2009 I developed a character named “Jonny Hancock” based on one of Chicago’s greatest buildings. Jonny Hancock is currently selling at Rotofugi, a designer toy store in Chicago. One of my latest custom designer toys was just featured on Kid Robot’s blog -The Kronikle. I like just to BE CREATIVE.
