About this Manufacturer

ToyQube & Gallery is located in Flushing, New York, straight out of the Q borough. The big apple is right in the heart of the exploding toy scene. Many of the most sought after artist/designers originated from these very streets. You might notice that many of out products seem to be influenced by street culture, TQ represents this in the fullest. We bring you not only designer vinyl toys and other collectable figures, but we also carry kicks, clothing, and other gear that comes with the lifestyle. Most of our toys come directly from Japan, Hong Kong and other European countries - too many to name. And of course we carry a variety of figures by local designers in the states. We are just trying to satisfy everyone from the vinyl collectors to the sneaker heads.Filth is the nom de guerre of designer and artist Lucas Irwin. Best known for his work in the sub-culture of designer vinyl toys, Irwin has brought his unique design sensibility to toy creations by Kid Robot, Toy2R, Thunderdog Studios, and Toy Qube. He is also is also an accomplished print designer, artist and father. Heavily influenced by the urban landscape, architecture, heavy machinery, instruction manuals, schematics, graffiti, art, and pop culture, Irwin builds complex images by simultaneously weaving together and ripping apart these references and influences. Irwin’s work has been exhibited across the United States, the United Kingdom and Japan. He currently works as a freelance designer in his new hometown of Portland, Oregon.I commissioned this custom 6" Kanser from UK artist Cris Rose back in 2009. This one-of-a-kind artwork originally started life as a 6" ToyQube Kanser figure and Cris used a bright-orange candy paint and found objects to transformed it into a gorgeous rusty, fire orange robot. He did an amazing job of capturing that weathered, rusted, oily metal look with really nice textures throughout. The helmet on the Kanser is removable and stands on it's own so it can be displayed on or next to the main figure. Signed & Numbered (1/1) on the bottom of the feet.
