About this Artist
Sean D’Anconia has built a seductive visual universe by marrying cult-cinema & animation to a wild pop-art aesthetic. Born in Montreal, Canada, D’Anconia was named after another “Sean”-Connery—by his mother, an intrepid James Bond fan. This early “Bondian” bullet would fire itself throughout D’Anconia’s life and creative pursuits. After living and working in Italy, Hong Kong, Los Angeles, Vancouver—this iconoclast Canadian designer/artist/cine-visualist is firing from all creative pistons. D’Anconia’s composite world is a “bio pic” of his own imagination: irreverent, prolific, explosive – based on an encyclopedic knowledge of popular culture past, and a knowing eye for future trend undercurrents years before they hit, D’Anconia’s Pop-Fusion Art, design, creative branding, collages, melanges all serve to integrate his punk-mod sensibility, which pops-out of a razor sharp eye, colored by an eastern tinted lens.Giclée (pronounced "zhee-clay") is a neologism for the process of making fine art prints from a digital source using ink-jet printing. The word "giclée" is derived from the French language word "le gicleur" meaning "nozzle", or more specifically "gicler" meaning "to squirt, spurt, or spray". It was coined in 1991 by Jack Duganne, a printmaker working in the field, to represent any inkjet-based digital print used as fine art. The intent of that name was to distinguish commonly known industrial "Iris proofs" from the type of fine art prints artists were producing on those same types of printers. The name was originally applied to fine art prints created on Iris printers in a process invented in the early 1990s but has since come to mean any high quality ink-jet print and is often used in galleries and print shops to denote such prints. We work with artists studios and game companies to design custom posters and collectibles for collectors and partners
