Kozik (Army Green)

Hail the Goon Squad: the newest edition to Frank Kozik's empire of busts. Each of these five friendly dictators is 4-inches tall and ready to take over your world. Released 07/26/2012. Sculpted in single color vinyl, and available in 5 color options: electric blue, magenta, yellow, black and white. 1AM and curator James Brown, are proud to present “Kozik”, an exhibition that pays homage to Frank Kozik’s artistic career over the past 30 years. The show reflects on his iconic work from being a poster artist for renowned bands such as Nirvana, Pearl Jam, The Red Hot Chili Peppers and The Beastie Boys to a vinyl toy sculptor and designer. The new collection aims to expose his influence on art culture today by showcasing new and original posters by the man himself, Frank Kozik, as well as including select artists to interpret his designs into new narratives. I am an Artist based out of Chicago, IL. I’ve been illustrating, painting, and doing anything and everything art for the past 7 years. I’ve done various works from t-shirt design to logos to illustrating books to commission pieces. For the past year, I’ve gotten the most exposure for my custom work on vinyl toys. My work has been featured on multiple website and online forums as well as in print. Mid 2009 I developed a character named “Jonny Hancock” based on one of Chicago’s greatest buildings. Jonny Hancock is currently selling at Rotofugi, a designer toy store in Chicago. One of my latest custom designer toys was just featured on Kid Robot’s blog -The Kronikle. I like just to BE CREATIVE.
