Marshall burst onto the scene in January 2008 when a relatively unknown design team from a small town in Michigan released a letter-pressed print of their new character, an infectiously happy little marshmallow boy who just happened to enjoy roasting marshmallows himself. The Marshall shown on the print was equal parts cute and sadistic, one of our favorite combinations. From the first time we saw Marshall we knew that 64 Colors’ partners, Laura and Eric, had hit on something fantastic. Luckily for us it turns out that Laura and Eric were not only great designers, but also fans of designer toys…and as it turns out, fans of Rotofugi. So when they approached us about the idea of making Marshall toys, we jumped at the opportunity and suggested a blind box series.Stationed out of our Mothership in Philadelphia we are Invading this planet to bring you toys. Our invasion will take form of collectable art known as designer toys. We've scoured this planet for it's finest artists and creatives to define the vessels of our mind control devices. Each of limited quantity and premium quality meant to collect and bring joy, these "toys" are a perfect means to infiltrate. At first it's just one art toy, a cool vinyl figure that speaks to your style, then another, and another. Soon you won't be able to stop and WE will take credit for that!Frank Mysterio is a Mexican artist and designer known for his bold, psychedelic, and graffiti-inspired art toys. His work blends elements of Mexican folklore, lucha libre, lowbrow art, and street culture, resulting in eye-catching, highly detailed designs that often feature skulls, masks, and intricate patterns. Mysterio is particularly recognized for his use of bright neon colors, airbrushed gradients, and tattoo-like linework, giving his figures a unique and unmistakable aesthetic.
