About this Manufacturer

Pretty In Plastic Inc. was founded by Julie B., and is operated in the great city of Los Angeles. We are Toy Couture, from design to production, we create sculptures of all shapes and sizes…. and materials. Many artists and companies have great ideas and don’t know where to start, some want to make just one piece, some want to make limited runs and are not looking to make thousands in China, and some have a vision for a product or environment they want to create. We want to fill this need from creating prototypes and limited editions to larger scale pieces and installations. The possibilities are great and it can be done… in this country. We have also developed unique techniques that use recycled materials in our casting process, decreasing the use of raw materials, and we look forward to exploring more options and sharing them with you. Plastic can take on the personality of wood, bronze, glowing colors, sparkling candy, and platforms for artists to paint. Our services are of the highest quality, from sculpting the tiniest little pinky toe to creating Castle Greyskull in a Gallery space. We work closely with our clients to capture their unique aesthetic.Camille Rose Garcia was born in 1970 in Los Angeles, California, The child of a Mexican activist filmmaker father and a muralist/painter mother, she apprenticed at age 14 working on murals with her mother while growing up in the generic suburbs of Orange County, visiting Disneyland and going to punk shows with the other disenchanted youth of that era. Garcia’s layered, broken narrative paintings of wasteland fairy tales are influenced by William Burroughs’ cut-up writings and surrealist film, as well as vintage Disney and Fleischer cartoons, acting as critical commentaries on the failures of capitalist utopias, blending nostalgic pop culture references with a satirical slant on modern society. Her work has been displayed internationally and featured in numerous magazines including Juxtapoz, Rolling Stone, and Modern Painter, and is included in the collections of the Los Angeles County Museum as well as the San Jose Museum of Art, which held a retrospective of her work, Tragic Kingdom,in 2007.
