A tribute to Steve MartinMixed media tends to refer to a work of visual art that combines various traditionally distinct visual art media. For example, a work on canvas that combines paint, ink, and collage could properly be called a "mixed media" work. When creating a painted or photographed work using mixed media it is important to choose the layers carefully and allow enough drying time between the layers to ensure the final work will have integrity. If many different media are used it is equally important to choose a sturdy foundation upon which the different layers are imposed. Many interesting effects can be achieved by using mixed media. Often, found objects are used in conjunction with traditional artist media, such as paints and graphite, to express a meaning in the everyday life. In this manner, many different elements of art become more flexible than with traditional artist media.My name is Mick Minogue and I am a freelance Arts & Craftser working as creative director and graphic artist from the office in my head. After ruining well over 300 school books with my excessive doodling throughout my adolescent years I eventually graduated from the National College of Art & Design NCAD In 2007 with a first prize degree In Art & Design Education. After spending a few years back In school as an art teacher I decided to pursue my creative career as a artist as the doodling on school books thing had not yet subsided. I manage all my creative projects from my little studio base In Dublin, Ireland. A lot of my work Is inspired from the archives of my childhood, referencing popular culture from the 1980s and 90s. I try not lend myself to one artistic practice as I have the creative hyperactivity of an 80s kid watching the Ghostbusters whilst drinking fizzy pop. I feel Its my duty to make and do for its all I know apart from being able to make a mean sandwich.
