About this Artist
Born in Santa Monica and raised in Tokyo, Tohru Patrick moved back to California in 2001 and has worked as a character/concept designer for animated movies such as "9" (Focus Features), "Legend of the Guardians" (Warner Bros) as well as "TRON: Uprising" (Disney Television) and many other film development projects. Although he swings digital pens hell out at work, Tohru Patrick also has attached a great deal of traditional watercolor painting of his own in the last several years. Recent group exhibitions include "Totoro Forest Exhibit" at Cartoon Art Museum, "Breath of Embers", "Hollow Thoughts" and "All Together Now" at Gallery Nucleus in CA, "Crazy 4 Cult" at Gallery 1988 in CA and NY, a duo show "風炎/FOHEN" at haleARTS SPACE in CA. Q Pop is the exclusive southern California seller of Harajuku fashion labels Algonquins and Sex Pot Revenge, as well as the exclusive US seller of Super Lovers. Located in the historic Little Tokyo area of downtown Los Angeles, Q Pop features beautiful interior design by Justin K Thompson. Q Pop opened it’s doors on Nov.12 2010 and strives to bring the best in worldwide creativity to you. CHRIS MITCHELL Co-owner Chris Mitchell is an illustrator , artist, and filmmaker. Chris graduated from Cal Arts and has gone on to design and write on many popular and groundbreaking animation projects. Ren and Stimpy, Power Puff Girls, Samurai Jack, Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs, to name a few. Chris was nominated for an Emmy for his work Use of liquid ink as a material to create art, typically by applying it to a surface like paper with a pen or brush, allowing artists to produce drawings, paintings, or calligraphy by utilizing its fluidity and color properties to form images or text; essentially, it's a versatile tool for creating artwork through the application of colored liquid
