About this work
Three distinct sculptures or figurines, each with a unique design. The sculptures are predominantly black and white, with intricate detailing. 1. The first sculpture on the left appears to be a stylized representation of a creature with elongated tentacles. It has a skull-like face with hollow eye sockets and a prominent jawline. The tentacles are detailed with circular patterns. 2. The second sculpture in the center is also tentacle-like but seems to be more humanoid in shape. It has a skull face with a prominent jaw and a beard. The tentacles are long and extend outward, with detailed patterns. 3. The third sculpture on the right is a humanoid figure with a pirate-like appearance. It has a tricorn hat, a beard, and a skull face. The figure is holding a sword and has elongated tentacles extending from its back. All three sculptures are mounted on black bases and are set against a dark background, which accentuates their details and makes them stand out prominently.Born into the greyness of England at the end of the Seventies, by the age of four Jon-Paul Kaiser knew that what he wanted to do in life was a draw. From that point he rarely strayed from that path; scribbling and doodling his way through School, College and University. After working with Porlzilla, Jon-Paul decided to go it alone concentrating at first on the toy customization scene, building up a name and strong reputation for himself with his stark Black & White custom style, influenced by comic book art, film noir & Ukiyo-e prints. This lead to him being approached by established toy producers for designs for their platform toys. Principally amongst these are Toy2R who have released numerous JPK Platforms. Mixed media tends to refer to a work of visual art that combines various traditionally distinct visual art media. For example, a work on canvas that combines paint, ink, and collage could properly be called a "mixed media" work. When creating a painted or photographed work using mixed media it is important to choose the layers carefully and allow enough drying time between the layers to ensure the final work will have integrity. If many different media are used it is equally important to choose a sturdy foundation upon which the different layers are imposed. Many interesting effects can be achieved by using mixed media. Often, found objects are used in conjunction with traditional artist media, such as paints and graphite, to express a meaning in the everyday life. In this manner, many different elements of art become more flexible than with traditional artist media.
