About this Medium

Screen printing is a printing technique that uses a woven mesh to support an ink-blocking stencil. The attached stencil forms open areas of mesh that transfer ink or other printable materials which can be pressed through the mesh as a sharp-edged image onto a substrate. A roller or squeegee is moved across the screen stencil, forcing or pumping ink past the threads of the woven mesh in the open areas. Screen printing is also a stencil method of print making in which a design is imposed on a screen of silk or other fine mesh, with blank areas coated with an impermeable substance, and ink is forced through the mesh onto the printing surface. It is also known as silkscreen, seriography, and serigraph. Q: So one of the things I have always picked up on in your work, is that things feed into themselves, and so my eye kinda travels around, and after a while I’ve looked at the whole thing… has that always been your tendency? I just kinda f**k with sh*t til it looks right, ya know? I mean, I’m a mad freak about the symmetry… I have a guide, and I stick everything to that center point, it’s nerdy. There might be something I don’t see right away, and a year later, i’ll be like, ahh f**k. But (as far as the images) I like it to be f**ked up, I want it to be f**ked up… if its f**ked up lookin to me, then I think it’s good to go. I dont have to push it too much… the collage stuff has become prevalent, but, it’s fun to do man… and it can look badass (laughs). I like doing the other photo-based stuff too, but it’s about 60/40…
