About this Manufacturer
Self-produced art toys are designer collectibles created and manufactured independently by the artist or small teams without the backing of a large toy company or mass-market brand. These toys are often highly personal, artistic expressions and are usually made in limited runs. Key Characteristics include independent creation where the artist is in control of the entire process from concept, sculpting, and painting to production and packaging. These are usually made in small batches, often 10–100 pieces, which adds to their rarity, made using materials like resin, sofubi (Japanese soft vinyl), or 3D-printed components. Born and raised in Dallas, John started making art in high school, and continued at the Art Institute of Dallas. His experience with screen printing and poster creation allowed John, through the individual style of those hand skills and a digital talent with computers, to form a non traditional style.” Diablo Texas is the name of John Gonzales enterprise: “As a digital concept artist by trade, Diablo Texas lets me express my creative abilities through 3D computer modeling, painting, urban vinyl toys and a truly expanded media" My work deals with evoking the emotion of the battle of good and evil over ones soul. Expressing a balance and depth that is attainable within each of our hearts. My mediums of choice are acrylic on finished birchwood, sometimes layered to expand on the natural depth and shape of each peice.
