Mixed media tends to refer to a work of visual art that combines various traditionally distinct visual art media. For example, a work on canvas that combines paint, ink, and collage could properly be called a "mixed media" work. When creating a painted or photographed work using mixed media it is important to choose the layers carefully and allow enough drying time between the layers to ensure the final work will have integrity. If many different media are used it is equally important to choose a sturdy foundation upon which the different layers are imposed. Many interesting effects can be achieved by using mixed media. Often, found objects are used in conjunction with traditional artist media, such as paints and graphite, to express a meaning in the everyday life. In this manner, many different elements of art become more flexible than with traditional artist media. Ciou, was born in Toulouse in 1981, she actually works and lives in her home town , after living in Bruxelles and Paris. She succeeded to gain a relevant place in the world of contemporary pop art and lowbrow, at a very young age . The exhibit that gave her international visibility was in 2004 at the Flux Factory gallery in New York City with the group show » Cute and Scary » with confirmed lowbrow artists. From there she went on to show in Amsterdam at the Kochxbos gallery, Paris, Barcelona, Brussels, California, Portland, Roma , Berlin, Seattle with her fist solo show » Mysterious flowers » in usa at the gallery Roq La Rue in late 2010,. She’s Actually working on the third solo show at the Kochxbos gallery in march 2013 , and to the first solo show in the Gallery of the museum, » La halle st Pierre » in Paris, june 2013 . The show in the museum is included to the Hey part 2 international exhibition.
