New York-based designer and sculptor RedGuardian has been carving out a path in the designer toy world for the past 4 years, though he has been a designer for well over two decades. Best known for his Creative Clown design and Chunder figures, his custom Designer Toy art is highly collectible and well-executed. The Teddy Troops had been around in the streets for a while before they also turned into a 3D vinyl toy in 2004. First of all Flying Förtress started in 2002 to get up with his chrome Trooper icon. Trying to use an easier readable illustrative symbol instead of doing the classic coded graffiti letters and tags that he had been doing before since 1989. Together with the chrome pieces there have stickers also been seen around in the streets since 2002. Handpainted or silkscreend ones with a hand-drawn finish on "free" post stickers and series of offset printed stickers. As all artists since the beginning of time, we always search for masters and mentors to look up to, whose work speaks to us on a spiritual level, those artworks that touch our hearts or engage our minds or maybe even enrage us. So, when I started my career as a Graphic Designer/Entrepreneur eighteen years ago and a Sculpter/Toy Designer along the way, I needed to find beacons to light up the toy crafting path ahead.
