MP Gautheron is a French artist renowned for her vibrant and intricate paintings, sculptures, and custom art toys. Based in Rennes, France, she has been immersed in art from a young age, influenced by her mother, an art professor and painter. This early exposure led her to pursue formal studies in graphical design and plastic arts in Paris, culminating in a Master’s degree in plastic art/illustration. Her work often explores the natural process of death, aiming to help viewers accept it by embellishing and reinterpreting its imagery. She employs a mix of realistic depictions and fantastical configurations to tell stories, frequently using bold colors to infuse life into her subjects. KAWS’ Companion is one of the most iconic figures created by the artist Brian Donnelly, known as KAWS. The Companion character features a cartoon-like figure with a skull-shaped head, crossed-out eyes, and gloved hands, resembling classic animation characters but with a distinct melancholic and introspective expression. Since its debut in the late 1990s, Companion has been released in various forms, including vinyl toys, large-scale sculptures, and limited-edition collaborations. The character is often depicted in different poses, such as covering its face in distress, reclining, floating, or standing tall, reflecting themes of isolation, vulnerability, and contemplation.
