A bootleg action figure is an imitation of an authentic action figure that is made by someone other than the official manufacturer. Bootleg figures are often sold as originals, but they can look very different from the authentic figure in several ways Over 60 international artists take on our annual celebration of the art of the action figure. Intended to elevate action figures, bootlegs and other retro toys, this exhibit recalls the heyday of the Action Figure format – the 1970’s and 80’s.
