About this Artist
Illustration I like to blend influences from pop culture, childhood obsessions and toy design to create a world of bleary-eyed monsters. I can also produce more technical realistic work, and spent two years as a Graphic Illustrator for Games Workshop. I have a BA in Illustration and was nominated for the Hallmark Innovation in Illustration prize in my final year. Art Department I am experienced in the production of graphics, models, figures, dioramas and props. Have worked in the art department of film and television productions as both an illustrator and model maker. Toys I produce low run polyurethane castings of sculpture, toys and models. I also produce custom designer toys and action figures, with accessories, weapons and sometimes fabric costumes. I have exhibited and sold toys internationally and have my own range of sculpted characters in production. Engineering I am fully trained as a manufacturing engineer having worked for Rolls-Royce plc and as Senior Engineer at the Advanced Manufacturing Research Centre in Sheffield. Freelancing as a manufacturing engineer I specialise in Unigrahics CAD software, tool design, lean manufacturing and manufacturing planning. I have a HND in Manufacturing Production Engineering. Music I love music and collect records. I like to play these to people sometimes and go by the Lunartik in a Cup of Tea is a designer toy series created by British artist Matt JOnes (aka Lunartik). These collectible vinyl figures feature a stylized character sitting inside a teacup, blending a whimsical and minimalist design with a playful tea-themed concept. The original Lunartik in a Cup of Tea figure is a small, round-headed character with a simple face, often depicted with a tea bag tag hanging from the cup. The series includes Mini-Teas (smaller versions with various colors and flavors) and special edition teas, featuring collaborations, custom designs, and exclusive releases. Lunartik’s Mini Tea Tour featuring 70+ custom works of art, created from Matt JOnes’ platform toy, Lunartik in a Cup of Tea. These artistic interpretations have been brewed to perfection by a fine selection of World Artists. The Mini Tea Tour debuts at the 43° Gallery in Berlin, then moves on to Vienna to the Sixxa store for spring, then off to the USA and to Dragatomi for summer, and lastly we see this year’s tour come to rest in Forbidden Planet’s Mega Store in London for the Christmas season.
