"River and Moonlight" was mainly inspired by the canoe Prows of the tribes of the Solomon Islands. They secured these on the front of their vessel as they hunted or went into battle... A figure holding a bird indicated a hunting party (as opposed to the figure holding a skull or head which would mean they are going to war or headhunting) . His eye extends out into the night sky,staring at the moon
