I just had a great moment clicking the "Have It" button and I need to talk about it. We here at Trampt aren't just avid fans, we are also avid collectors and I feel like we haven't done that aspect of ourselves justice here in the Newswire. I'm going to change that now with a news segment called My Collection, wherein I'll write in greater detail about one piece from, you guessed it, my collection. I'll try to make this a weekly thing, but as with the featured artists I make no promises.

So, on with the story. I think it fitting to write about my latest and absolute favorite (at the moment) acquisition, Heart of the Holder, by Jason Limon. Friday was my birthday and I was thrilled to arrive at home after a long day of fun adventures to find my present waiting for me, right on time. I couldn't set it down. I just walked around with it in my hand, periodically walking up to different walls and seeing if I might find a good spot for it. This is the first painting in our collection and I couldn't be more pleased. Aside from my intense love for the painting itself, I have to hand it to Jason Limon for really treating his customers right. Packaged in with the painting were a couple of his lovely business cards (round!), a pack of limited edition 6"x9" prints, and a pack of limited 4"x6" prints which even included a hand-drawn pencil study. Stunning! The painting itself is a testament to what a skilled painter he is. The textures are absolutely gorgeous and despite not being very big, it draws you right in. My creature has tentacles, and autonomous swirly eyeball and a red-tipped beak, yet for all its creepiness his eyes seem to glisten with affection. Who knew that darkness could be so peppy? I only got to briefly shake Mr. Limon's hand at the end of last year's DCon (Designer Con) : 2012 and noted with sadness that there were almost no paintings left on the wall (nor, for that matter, was there money left in my pocket) and I'm so glad that I had the opportunity to finally correct my household eyeball shortage.
