It's time for me to gush about how much I love the dashing, well-dressed, exquisitely crafted felt-children of the one and only Louise Evans, aka Felt Mistress. Some artists are more fun to follow than others, and Felt Mistress takes the cake (incidentally, cake is listed in her bio as one of her main interests) as a must-have presence on twitter and instagram. I love seeing the many teasers and WIP shots she posts, not to mention that being trained as a fashion designer myself, I enjoy geeking out over her amazing craft in the close-ups.
Her show "Hey! Who's This Guy?" which opened back in May at Nobrow Gallery in London and boasted a new cast of dandy characters was an huge success, and her piece for "Oootopia: An Artgerbraic Tribute to Adventure Time" at Gallery Nucleus (Marceline the Vampire Queen) will be on display and available for purchase starting August 18th. However, if like me you happen to be an ocean away from London and a continent away from sunny California, I have some good news: This winter she and her long-time collaborator Jonathan Edwards with be featured in their very own 400 page hardcover art book, which is already up for pre-order through the publisher at blankslatebooks.bigcartel.com. For more news, pictures, and to sprinkle a dash of plushy class into your day I recommend checking out her website feltmistress.com, Flickr page, and her online boutique.
