32 x 36 Inches Acrylic & Oil on Paper Mounted to Canvas This piece is from a series of figurative paintings from an ongoing body of work. Each of these is a portrait of a friend whose physical appearance is veiled by their clothing. I wanted to see how much of the human body I could cover up but still have the painting read as a portrait. In the larger works from this series I also include objects and mementos from their homes. These objects become a series of symbolic references that tell the story of who the person is. I’m interested in how we can describe a person through the debris of life." - Amir H. Fallah
