Perhaps it is just me, but I'm kinda bugged by the fact that the "Biggest Fan of…" area on artist pages is strictly decided by how many of that artists works you have in your combined Have and Want lists. Shouldn't more 'weight' be given to people that actually own items?
For instance, if I Have 3 pieces by Artist A & Want 10 more shouldn't I be considered a "Bigger Fan" than a user who Has 0 pieces & Wants 14?
Humorously enough, this scenario came to my attention because I am listed as a biggest fan of someone that I merely have Wants for… while a user that actually owns a piece is near the bottom of the list. It just seemed wrong to me…

Very interesting for conversation indeed... I would like to see people who "have" more than the ones who "want". Anybody can "want" any piece, so it can easily outgrow the "have". Maybe a much higher weighting for the "have".
Also, I tend to use the "want" more towards production items so that people could see what I want as trade for my items to "deal".
I've mentioned this before, would like to see the "this is fuckin' sweet" be something where I can see what I have tagged previously. Kinda like a favorite. I think people would use it more, if they know that it is more than just clicking on the button. Also, it may address the issue of using the "want" for things to come back to later.
Upvote my reply if you agree... :-)

Yeah I think pieces owned should be what determines an artists biggest fan as well. I think the "want" feature should be utilized more for the marketplace when it becomes live i.e. getting notified when someone is selling one etc. but Im sure you guys already thought of that one.

JoshMayhem v and yup ya sure did as I just now read Blakes response below haha about 12 years ago
Agreed that a list of your "sweet" items would be nice. There's some things that I like that I'll mark as sweet but either couldn't ever afford or don't fit in with my collection so I won't hit "want". It'd be nice to be able to see a list of these items as a reference when showing other people cool stuff that you might not remember the name of otherwise.

And not to get too insane here, but should retail price of the figure matter?
In other words, should the guy that only owns 1 custom but spent $500 on it be considered "a bigger fan" than the guy who owns 10 production figures that cost $7 a piece?

i would tend to say no, price should not be a factor in the equation... some people just have more disposable income than others. doesn't mean that they are any bigger fan than someone who can afford production pieces.
besides, i think anyone who has spent on a few custom will likely have many of the production pieces anyways so I think they end up with more "have"... about 12 years ago
I think you should own at least one piece to be as first two spots, not only likes, to give more weight at least on those two spaces to the people who owns the pieces.

vihkter good idea... a little more to consider for the listing. another way is to allow to sort by "have" and "wants" so you can see the top ones for each. about 12 years ago
Agreed. I also noticed some fans don't own a single piece of a collection, but are at the top of the list.

blake a I think we could continue to turn the knob up and down on this one, and it wouldn't be right in every situation to a human viewer. The fact is, there is some nuance to who deserves the title "biggest fan". As long as it seems fair 90+% of the time, I am comfortable with that. :) about 12 years ago
It is weighted ... every 'have' counts as 'two' and every 'want' counts as 'one'. :)

Would an original be worth more weighted than a production run piece? I agree with what I've read in others responses and am interested to know what the final outcome is.
